Buenos Dias 🙂
Today marks the third day I have been strictly doing the whole foods/plant based diet and I feel GREAT! My skin is clearing up and I have noticed a spike in my energy and mental clarity. I hardly ever weigh myself, but my clothes feel great- they were a little tight after my lake trip! It could just be my positive mojo from sticking to this, but my skin is actually “glowing” a little bit. I highly recommend that everyone try this- at least for a few days- to see how you feel. If you are concerned about what you can and cannot eat, I recommend checking out the Forks Over Knives website, or just googling it. I actually made my very own cookbook by printing off recipes found through Pinterest and glueing them into a small notebook. There are so many awesome vegan recipes! Last night I made curried eggplant with basil and tomatoes with basmati rice- YUM! I even had enough leftover for lunch today.
The week is pretty smooth sailing so far. I’ve been focusing on being more positive and watching what I say. I read an interesting article on MindBodyGreen about how what you say affects your being. I believe this, because when I am particularly negative about a subject or person, it puts me in an awful mood. I don’t like to talk bad about people, but I admit that I do sometimes. Afterwards, I feel like I carry it with me into whatever I’m doing and it becomes the dark cloud over everything. So, in an effort to curb this terrible nuisance, I’m working on it. Luckily, I get good daily practice! I suppose we all have people we must be around that we would otherwise choose not to be, whether it be at work or in the building you live in, etc.
I would like to remove everything from my life that causes me negativity, but this is simply unrealistic. Do any of you find yourself in a similar battle? I struggle with this the most through social media- as it is my job and I can’t avoid it everyday. I loved Social Media more when it was primarily used as a way to connect with far away family and friends. It seemed to be such a happy median back then. But now it appears that most people use it as a soap box/sounding board to vent their negativity. So my challenge to all of you (and myself) is to focus on only saying, spreading, typing, and/or venting the positive! When I see an uplifting and positive message, it makes me feel better. So if you can’t do it for yourself, do it for others and take heed.
Today’s post will be short but sweet, as I will leave you all with this quote to think about:
“Nobody else knows your reason for being. You do. Your bliss guides you to it. When you follow your bliss, when you follow your path to joy, your conversation is of joy, your feelings are of joy—you’re right on the path of that which you intended when you came forth into this physical body.”
