Living Up to Your Potential

It’s Monday again, readers!

Lost in Florence.. Loving it!

I hope you have a wonderful week planned ahead of you. I hope you are open to receive the many messages life leaves around for us, to make sure we are traveling on the path meant for us. I’ve been known to veer off course when something shiny catches my eye (remember that joke I made connected Siri and Apple Maps to my path?!). However, I’m getting a lot better at checking in with myself and being honest about where I am and how far I have to go until my next milestone.

This morning I submitted my first article to be published on a favorite website of mine. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to post it here in my blog or send it to the masses. It’s very dear to my heart and I ultimately went with the masses, because I believe I can help more people by going that route.

Do you ever look back on your life and wonder why you went through something you ultimately overcame? I have assessed past situations in that manner, until I realized everything had led me to my current path. All the challenges, heart aches, disappointments, confusion and even being totally, completely lost as to what I was doing with my life– had brought me here to the present. Currently, I am more in control of my future than I ever have been. I have a clear vision of what I really want to accomplish and how I’m going to get there.

I have realized my potential. I used to not really believe I had the potential to achieve the huge dreams I had. Why do we do that as we grow older? If you ask a child what they want to do with their lives, they give you their answers with total confidence, in sort of a why-wouldn’t-my-life-be-awesome way. We should never lose that ability to see our vision. Why do we make it so complicated? When you take the time to weed through the shiny distractions, it really is right in front of you. Live up to your potential, because you have that passion for a real, valid reason.

It can be difficult to see how your passion might earn you a full-time career. Approach it as a problem solver or benefit to a group of people. How will that passion solve a problem or help someone? Make a plan with small, achievable goals and create your path. Where will it lead? How much time will it take? Keep track of your progress and learn as you go. The important thing is, you are tapping into your potential. The more you open your mind to your great potential, the more you will attract success into your life.

I want to help others, and so I will use the experiences of my past to do that. I have been equipped with these survivor skills for that reason. In the coming weeks, I will be sharing with you exactly what I mean by that. Find your motivation today, even though Monday’s can be difficult after a slow weekend pace. Keep your potential in mind and remember, you have everything you need within you.

Love & Light,
